The Landing sports Centre
The Landing is the home of the “Chilliwack Pickleball Club.” This facility offers the club 12 courts to support this growing sport. Chilliwack Pickleball Club is for ages 12 and up. Lessons are provided for new players; coaching from advanced players is available as are skill-rating assessments. We have levels of play from beginner to 5.0. The Club strives to promote the sport in a friendly and social environment.
As of September 2017, all players must be members of the Chilliwack Pickleball club at a cost of $24 annually. For members, the drop-in fees remain $3. Buying a 14 game punch-card for $42 with the 15th game free, offers you a savings of $3 for every punch card you purchase. For first time players, they get in free for their first visit, but must sign a waiver form. If the new player wishes to join they can play two more times at $4 a drop-in session and then join. For visiting guests, a $4 drop-in fee will be required and a waiver form signed for their visiting timeframe.

Play format at the Landing will consist of sign-in and net set up, 15 minutes prior to start time for play. Do not set up nets or begin play before assigned times.
For first 30 minutes, open play commences. After 30 minutes players proceed to their appropriate courts that are assigned by skill level. See white boards for court assignments. Skill level categories will be as follows:
Beginners – two courts will be assigned
2.0 – 3.0 - three courts will be assigned
3.0 – 3.5 - four courts will be assigned
3.5 – 4.5+ -three courts will be assigned
Use “paddle method” to mix players within each skill level category or “Gold/Silver” play. No selective 4 player group within a category unless you are the only 4 playing. Use rule of “Pickleball thumb” that 50% of your games should be played at your rated skill level; 25% at a rating levels higher; 25% at a rating levels lower. Please be generous playing with other players and let’s help each other out!
Note: Improving your game does not come just from playing with better players, it also comes from watching You Tube videos on Pickleball strategies, reading books on how to improve your game, and watching others at higher levels play.
